Product Review: Bed Bath & Beyond

Ok – so it isn’t really a product, but I am going to lump it into this category anyway. I have been a customer for years, and I admit I like going in and browsing the aisles to see what latest thing I can’t live without. It’s interesting for me to see all the products I watched on Shark Tank slowly end up there. I have seen the Squatty Potty, the Illumibowl (although I think they either changed the name to something else, or they are carrying a knock-off), Just as a sidebar, I received one of these as a gift, and installed it in the master bathroom for when my husband makes late night trips to the bathroom. It works great, although we had to change the color pattern, as he found the ‘light show’ too stimulating in the middle of the night.

The one thing I love about this store is their liberal return policy. You can take anything back, with or without a receipt, which is so convenient. The quality of the items over the past few years has steadily declined, so this is a policy I use often. Out of the last 10 items I have bought there, at least 3-4 have gone back due to malfunction.

I know the next logical question would be – if you have to return 30-40% of the things you buy, then why bother?

They have things there that they don’t carry anywhere else. I found stick on lights for our deck stairs, high-powered lights that you wear on your head, the Angry Mama (how neat is this thing?!), and countless others. It’s fun to look around, and every now and then you find a great deal you just can’t pass up.

The other thing I love is the 20% off coupon. If I forget to bring it with me, I can just bring the receipt back in with my coupons (even months later), and they will credit me back the difference. You can’t beat that!

In the end, the final verdict is positive. I like that I can take anything back, anytime, without question. No having to deal with manufacturer warranties, etc. So if you have to buy a Keurig, or other appliance, buy it there, and if it stops running after 11 months, you can take it back and they will give you a new one.
