Sports news from the past week:
Basketball: NCAA’s March Madness. The madness ended Tuesday in Michigan losing 62-79 to Villanova in the Finals. NBA: The conference champions have been set: the Houston Rockets in the west and the Toronto Raptors in the east. it’s a juicy battle for a playoff spot late in the season between Minnesota and Denver in the west. In the east, however it’s a different story. The playoff teams have been set: the Raptors, Celtics, Cavaliers, 76ers, Pacers, Wizards, and Bucks.
Soccer: There is so much to talk about in the past week of soccer. UEFA Champions League: Juventus 0-3 Real Madrid, Sevilla 1-2 Bayern Munich, Barcelona 4-1 Roma, Liverpool 3-0 Manchester City. Let me start with Madrid vs Juve. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a beauty- hitting the ball from the bicycle kick in midair from the cross. Madrid have 3 AWAY goals going into leg 2. now we’re in Seville, home to Real Betis and Sevilla FC. Sevilla were just coming of a 2-2 draw with Barcelona, conceding goals at the 88th and 89th minutes. Sevilla struck first vs FC Bayern, again, conceding 2 goals after a goal. now its the second day of UCL matches, starting with Barcelona vs Roma. 1 own goal was conceded for Roma 31 minutes in: De Rossi kicked the ball away from Messi, but instead of booting it away from goal, he booted it into his own net. then, in the second half, you guessed it- another o-g for roma. This time from K.Manolas. Roma did get a consolation, but it was 4-1 for Barca. Liverpool had a shock vs Man City 3-0!
